Dr. José Luis Sosa, DVM

Medical Director

Dr. José Luis Sosa is a graduate of Tuskegee University, Class of 1997, with over two decades of experience in veterinary medicine. His passion for animal well-being has led him to specialize in managing complex medical cases and advanced surgeries, always with a commitment to providing the best care to each patient. For more than 10 years, he worked in veterinary emergencies, which gave him extensive experience in treating critical situations.

In addition to his clinical work, he has been actively involved in the development of the veterinary profession in Puerto Rico. He has served as Treasurer, Secretary, and Metropolitan Area Representative for the Puerto Rico Veterinary Medical Association, and currently serves on the Puerto Rico Veterinary Medical Examining Board, where he has contributed for nine years to the growth and regulation of the profession. He also served as director of the PAVE program, facilitating the certification of foreign-trained veterinarians in the United States.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Sosa enjoys the sea and sailing, basketball, and coffee farming. No matter where he is, his focus remains the same: improving the quality of life for animals and strengthening the bond between them and their families.

Dra. Michelle Biello, DVM

Dr. Michelle Biello García earned her Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Michigan State University in 2005. Since then, she has dedicated her career to providing comprehensive medical care to her patients, with a special focus on internal medicine, preventive care, and geriatrics.

Her greatest interest lies in strengthening the relationship between pets and their owners, ensuring that each patient receives the necessary care for a long and healthy life. Throughout her career, she has held leadership positions, including her role as Chief of Staff at Banfield for six years, where she gained valuable experience in managing and developing veterinary teams.

Passionate about preventive medicine and animal welfare, Dr. Biello García remains committed to providing exceptional care, helping her patients at every stage of their lives.

Dra. Shirley Rodríguez, DVM

Dr. Shirley Rodríguez Martínez always knew her life would be surrounded by animals (and pet hair on her clothes). She began her journey at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, where she earned a degree in Integrative Biology. Following her passion for veterinary medicine, she pursued studies in Veterinary Technology, followed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, with her clinical year at Texas A&M.

Her primary interest within veterinary medicine is dermatology, as nothing excites her more than unraveling the mysteries behind those annoying allergies and skin problems in her furry patients. Before and during her studies, she gained experience working with small animals and equines, which allowed her to develop a special bond with each species.

In her free time, Dr. Rodríguez loves reading and traveling. At home, her life is ruled by her pack of six cats (Sushi, Wasabi, Pancha, Mocha, Casper, and Misuki) and four dogs (Sashi, Coco, Mota, and Blackie). However, against her will, she has some shared custody arrangements with her mother.

Dr. Hector Vargas Meneses, DVM

Dr. Héctor Benjamín Vargas Meneses is a graduate of the Central University of Venezuela, where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1996. His professional career spans over 20 years of experience in companion animal care, including dogs, cats, and other species.

In the early years of his career, he combined his love for nature with his profession by caring for birds, livestock, and horses on farms and ranches. This experience allowed him to develop a comprehensive view of veterinary medicine and strengthen his connection to animal welfare in various environments.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Vargas finds one of his greatest passions in music, which he has practiced for over 45 years. His professional life has been marked by a balance between veterinary work and his love for the arts. He also enjoys spending time in nature, where outdoor activities are his best way to relieve stress.

With a focus on animal welfare and extensive experience in various areas of veterinary medicine, Dr. Vargas remains committed to the health and quality of life of his patients.
